Kilgallioch Windfarm in South Ayrshire, Scotland was commissioned by Scottish Power Renewables at a cost of £300 million. This project consisted of 96 turbines with a total capacity of 239 megawatts. Construction started in 2015 and was completed in 2017.
Mc Fadden Civils Ltd. commenced work for Farrans Construction in summer 2015 and completed work in the autumn of 2017.
Our work consisted of initial site clearance, setting up compound, construction of roads, turbine bases, hardstandings and substation. We also completed all excavation and ducting from the turbines back to the substation for connection to the national grid.
This windfarm will make a significant contribution to provision of power to the electric grid.
