McFadden Civils was appointed to deliver a utilities upgrade to support the water supply to Cumnock sewerage treatment works, serving the wider campus area including Cumnock Academy.
The primary objective was to install a new water main to address low flow issues and improve the reliability of supply to the site. From initial design development through to project completion, the programme was delivered within an accelerated timeframe of just 10 weeks.
One of the key challenges was the project location, with the new main running through the main entrance and exit to Cumnock Academy. This required careful coordination to safely manage high volumes of traffic, pedestrians, and ongoing deliveries to the wastewater treatment plant.
Despite these constraints, the project stood out due to the speed of delivery and the efficiency of the team in progressing from site investigation and route planning through to design approval and construction.
