The Millside Walkway project in Finntown, Co. Donegal, created a safe and accessible pedestrian route through woodland and bogland while protecting the surrounding ecology. As the main civils contractor for Donegal County Council, McFadden Civils delivered all works in full compliance with environmental regulations, following Coillte-led inductions and strict protocols for protected habitats.

Soft, peaty ground required careful stabilisation, with construction planned to minimise disturbance throughout. The project was completed safely, on time and within budget, with Donegal County Council praising the workmanship, environmental care and strong collaboration. The finished walkway enhances community access and demonstrates McFadden Civils’ ability to balance engineering precision with environmental responsibility.
